Follow these Golden Rules for Cleaning Natural and Semi natural Fibres

  1. Always check the care label before cleaning to ensure you’re following the specific instructions for your garment.
  2. Clean your garment as little as possible to maximize its durability.
  3. If possible, opt for professional dry cleaning services for your garments.
  4. For washable items, hand washing in cold water is the safest option.
  5. Avoid tumble drying, as heat can damage natural fibres.
  6. Do not machine spin or wring out your garments. Instead, gently roll them in a towel to remove excess water.
  7. Use mild, fabric-specific detergents for cleaning.

When to Clean Your Natural and Seminatural fibers Garments

  1. If your garment is dirty, we recommend cleaning it only once or twice per season to minimize wear and tear.
  2. For smaller and less serious stains, you can spot clean at home using a diluted wool detergent and gentle blotting.
  3. For larger or more stubborn stains, professional spot cleaning at a dry cleaner is recommended.
  4. If your garment has an unpleasant odor or wrinkles, hanging it in a steamy bathroom for a few days can help eliminate the smell and release the wrinkles.

Cleaning Guidelines for Specific Garments:

Tailored Garments

(Tailored Jackets & Coats, Trousers & Shorts, Waistcoats, Dresses & Skirts)

Dry cleaning is recommended to preserve their shape and quality.
For uncomplicated little spots or stains try a spot clean treatment at your dry cleaners or at home using a diluted wool detergent to gently blot (never rub) the spot away.

Soft & Knit Garments

(Silk/Cotton/Viscose Blouses & Shirts, T-shirts & Knit Tops, Knit Skirts & Dresses, Fluid Silk Dresses)

Dry cleaning is ideal, but you can clean these items at home following the care instructions and using suitable detergents.

Wool & Cashmere

Hand wash in cold water with wool-specific detergent. Never machine spin wool or cashmere. To retain the shape of your garment it is best to remove all excess water by rolling up your garment in a towel. After doing this you can lay it flat to dry.

Silk & Viscose

Wash in cold or lukewarm water by hand or gentle machine cycle, avoid leaving them in water too long, and dry by rolling in a towel and then hanging.

Cotton & Linen

Machine or hand wash in low temperatures with mild detergent, and avoid tumble drying to prevent shrinkage.
